Electrical engineers are actively sought after as they are highly skilled professionals in the science of power generation and distribution, signal processing, and analogue and digital electronics.
Electrical engineering is crucial because it involves around the smooth running of any developed nation and is becoming increasingly vital in countries trying to improve their capacity in new and emerging technologies.


The Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering is thus designed to provide you with hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge that will prepare and equip you for the challenges of the new economy, while meeting requirements for widely accepted electrical engineering qualifications. The award may be conferred with Honours to high achieving students.

The Bachelor of Engineering programmes offered by The University of Newcastle, Australia (in conjunction with PSB Academy) are fully accredited by Engineers Australia (EA).

The programme may be completed within 4 years.

For those granted with exemptions, this programme may be completed within 3 years.
 

Programme Structure:

 

  • This programme consists of 35 modules and 1 Final Year Engineering Project
  • 2 semesters in Year 1; 3 trimesters in Year 2 to 4
  • 3 modules are taught in each semester in Year 1
  • 4 modules are taught in each trimester by both University faculty and local lecturers from Year 2 to 4
     

This programme is specially designed with the objective of giving students with GCE O-Levels or its equivalent a head start for the bachelor degree programme. Year 1 consists of bridging components which are meant to prepare students for the bachelor degree programme. Years 2 to 4 represent an accelerated programme which allows a typical 5-years programme to be completed in 4 years.

Students must complete an equivalent of 12 weeks industry experience during their programme.
